The Community’s Plan
The nonprofit community coalition Brooklyn for Downstate has advanced The Community’s Plan to the Downstate Community Advisory Board (DCAB) and Governor Hochul for consideration. This plan was informed by community input and need, which was shared during several forums that took place between fall of 2024 and spring of 2025, in addition to feedback offered by community members, health care professionals and others at DCAB public hearings, which began in January 2025. The community feedback has been clear. Brooklyn wants and needs a new hospital.
